The Australian Farm Institute’s Funding Agriculture's Future conference aims to bring together experts from the agriculture sector both in Australia and internationally to discuss the future investment needs of the sector, and to consider potential models that may be available to achieve the required investment and growth.

The first two sessions at the conference will discuss farm funding models. Brief descriptions for these sessions include:

Session 1 - Farm Funding Overview:  The future success of the Australian farm sector depends on the financial performance of the sector, and the sector’s ability to attract finance or investment funding for increasing productivity. This session will review the financial performance of farm businesses and the farm sector and provide a clear understanding of the current industry situation.

Session 2 - International Farm Funding Models:  Australian farm businesses are predominantly owner-operated with debt financing. Internationally, a much greater range of different models are employed, which entail both debt and equity funding, as well as a range of different variations of these. This session will involve presentations from international experts detailing the financing models that operate in overseas locations, and which may have some application to Australian farming.
